Wolverine fans, hang on to your seats. "Wolverine will be back," said Hugh Jackman.
After 17 years and nine movies as Wolverine, Hugh Jackman decided to give up the role as the iconic mutant antihero. What began as a last minute role to replace Dougray Scott in 2000's X-Men, turned into a career-building opportunity for the actor. Nine movies later, Hugh hung up his adamantium claws in Logan.
However, in a recent interview with Sunday Today, Hugh opened up about the possibility of seeing the X-Men hero back on the big screen.
"Oh, Wolverine will be back. Someone's going to buy him, I don't know," Hugh said.
If you're thinking that maybe Wolverine will be making his appearance in any upcoming Deadpool movies, Hugh has ruled that out. Despite his close friendship with Deadpool's Ryan Reynolds, Hugh is adamant that he is done playing the mutant.
But that's not stopping Ryan though. The actor has been trying to get Hugh on board for a crossover film between Wolverine and Deadpool.
"Ryan is relentless," he joked. "He keeps coming back to me in all these ways, shapes and forms. I just said, 'You know, I just don’t think the world really wants to see Deadpool with Wolverine.' Maybe a cameo from Deadpool? I just think it runs over it for Deadpool."

Ryan however jokingly argued that a crossover film is exactly what Hugh needs to boost his career.
"I continue to do press for Hugh Jackman to comeback. God know he's just been failing constantly since Wolverine," he quipped.
