On Thursday night, Selena Gomez broke down in tears on stage while accepting her Woman Of The Year trophy at the Billboard Women in Music ceremony as she dedicated the award to her best friend Francia Raisa.

She said, “Honestly, I couldn’t be more grateful for the position that I’ve been given in my career, from 7 to 14 to now. I feel like for me, with my music, I’ve been able to illustrate the things that I want. And I’m reminded by a team of people who believe in me even when I don’t myself, and I couldn’t be luckier."

Francia was Gomez’s date that night to the ceremony, and the two cuddled as they walked the carpet together.

Back in September, Gomez revealed that she received a kidney transplant from her friend Raisa as part of her lupus treatment, and since then, the two have been pretty open about the surgery on several interviews.
