Charlie Puth is undeniably one of the biggest popstars out there and probably one of the nicest guys out there too. But when it comes to throwing shade, Charlie is a straight SAVAGE!

Here are five celebrities that he has dissed throughout his career:

#1 Justin Bieber

Who doesn’t know Charlie’s hit song, “We Don’t Talk Anymore”? No one. But what you didn’t know is, after collaborating with Selena Gomez on the song, he decided to diss the one person Selena doesn’t talk to anymore at that time: Justin Bieber!

During the end of a performance of the song—in front of a live audience no less, Charlie said, “F*** you, Justin Bieber.”

However, Charlie admitted that he regretted his action:

"What I thought sounded funny in my mind, immediately when I put it to the microphone, I was like, 'Why did I say that?' He's a nice kid. I barely know him. I like his music. What's my problem? I need to stop trying to be funny." Well, no one's perfect, right?

#2 Selena Gomez

Of course, one of the reasons why Charlie would throw a shade at Bieber was most probably because he had a thing with Selena herself! And of course, we all know the shade he threw at Selena after the release of his song, “How Long”.

Charlie explained the song in an interview, "It's about a particular moment in my life, when someone very close to me wanted the attention of somebody else... I don't kiss and tell, but the only way a song like that can come across as real is if there's something else going on behind the scenes... I'm trying to put this the best way possible: It wasn't like I was the only person on her mind. And I think I knew that going in—what I was getting myself into."

What did you do to our boy Charlie, Selena?

#3 Bella Thorne

Charlie Puth and Bella Thorne were rumoured to be dating when they were spotted kissing on the beach. But things got messy when Bella’s ex, Tyler Posey, came into the picture.

Charlie then went on Twitter saying, "No one should have their heart messed with like this, and I'm not going to be in the middle of it. I don't know Tyler personally, but I know he shouldn't be treated this way."

Fans, of course, speculated that his song “Attention” was about Bella, after Charlie revealed the song was inspired by someone who “poured their heart out” on Instagram. Hmmm…

#4 Christina Aguilera

Charlie was asked what was his least favourite song of all time in a game once and he dissed Christina Aguilera saying, "Probably 'Genie in a Bottle' by Christina Aguilera. That song blows. I'm sorry. I hate that song. It's like UGH... what a mess! What a sonic mess."

It’s okay to have your opinion, but when you say it out loud in front of an audience, that’s a straight diss!

#5 Backstreet Boys

Backstreet Boys was once the biggest boyband back in the days, and in an insult battle between Charlie and the boyband, Charlie went full out on his diss!

via GIPHY

Charlie questioned why BSB’s songs sound like “a German Shepherd dying” and called them out for having a “dad bod”! SAVAGE!

But despite all the shade, we know Charlie’s not really a bad guy. It’s just the entertainment business.
