There’s nothing more terrifying than facing a dangerous natural disaster while you’re on what is supposed to be a nice relaxing holiday. And that’s exactly what’s happened to John Legend, Chrissy Teigen and their two kids when they found themselves stuck in the middle of the current Bali earthquake.
Teigen live tweeted the frightening event:
John and Chrissy have been in Bali for the past week on a family holiday, when a magnitude 6.9 earthquake shook the nearby island of Lombok on Sunday evening (5 August 2018), triggering a brief tsunami warning and damaging buildings as far away as Denpasar in Bali.
The quake was followed by two light-to-moderate secondary quakes and nearly two dozen aftershocks. The current death count is at 91.
Hours before the earthquake, Tiegen was sharing snippets of her family’s holiday, including a luxurious meal and toy shopping with her kids. Since the incident, Teigen has urged news outlets covering her story to avert their attention to those in need of serious help instead.
