After Almost 50 Years Of Acting, Samuel L. Jackson Is Finally Getting An Oscar

We’ve seen Samuel L. Jackson in some of the biggest and iconic movies around, and each role he has is definitely memorable that many of us still quote them to this day.

 

With so many great roles under his belt, imagine our surprise when we found out that the legendary actor does not have an Oscar.

Well, that’s all about to change, as Samuel L. Jackson is now about to receive his very first Academy Award!

 

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences recently announced the recipients of its 2022 Honorary Awards and we were over the moon to see the beloved actor’s name on the list!

 

Besides Samuel L. Jackson, the list of honourees include Danny Glover, Elaine May and Liv Ullman.

 

The recipients will be presented with their awards at the 12th Governor’s Ball in January 2022.

 

 

With nearly 50 years in Hollywood, Samuel L. Jackson’s significant contributions have made him one of the most recognizable actors of his generation.

 

Since he began his career, the actor has amassed over 100 film credits with some of his best-known roles as Nick Fury in the MCU and Mace Windu in Star Wars.

 

Samuel L. Jackson first began acting professionally in 1976 when he appeared on an episode of Movin’ On.

 

The Academy shared that the actor’s Honorary Award was awarded as he is “a cultural icon whose dynamic work has resonated across genres and generations and audiences worldwide.”

Despite not having won an Oscar in the five decades since he began his career, Samuel L. Jacson has been recognized once by the Academy Awards when he was nominated for Best Supporting Actor in 1994 for his performance in Pulp Fiction.

 

Besides that, the actor has also been nominated for four Golden Globes and won a BAFTA as well.
