While the Fantastic Beasts series is expanding the Wizarding World, the Harry Potter world seemingly came to an end with Harry Potter and The Cursed Child – the stage play follow up.
But if fans of the beloved franchise have deduced J.K. Rowling’s recent tweet correctly, it looks like we could have another Harry Potter movie soon!

A couple of days ago, the author returned to Twitter after a six-month break, with a simple tweet that hinted that there’s more to come from The Cursed Child.
The tweet read, “Sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places. #HarryPotter #CursedChild,” and included a stylized image of Lord Voldemort’s Dark Mark.
In case you haven’t read or seen The Cursed Child just yet, the award-winning stage play is a follow up of the original Harry Potter series that’s set 19 years after Deathly Hallows.
As not every Potterhead is able to catch The Cursed Child on stage, it’ll definitely be great if a movie were to come out.
With J.K.’s tweet, fans were left wondering what it meant and if a movie is on its way.
Unfortunately, the hopes and dreams of these Potterheads were quickly dashed by the Pottermore Twitter account that tweeted, “There is something exciting coming later on from @CursedChildNYC, but it’s not a movie.”
So unfortunately Potterheads, it seems unlikely that a Harry Potter and the Cursed Child movie is on the way but we’re keeping our fingers and toes crossed!
