Scarlett Johansson definitely left an impression playing the Marvel character Black Widow. And after years of fans’ requests, Marvel Studios is finally moving forward with the standalone movie!

a “black widow” movie is reported to be in development!

It’s reported that Marvel Studios just hired Jac Schaeffer to write the script for the movie! Jac’s claim to fame came when her script about an alien invasion caught the attention of Hollywood actress Anne Hathaway. She was then hired by Anne to write Nasty Women. Recently, after competing against several candidates and impressing Marvel Studios President, Kevin Feige, she was inducted into the Marvel crew.

Now, back to the movie. It seems that the plot will be a spy movie of sorts. This could also mean that Black Widow survived the events of Avengers: Infinity War… unless the movie is a prequel/origin story.

Scarlett spoke about the movie last year, saying that it’s a matter of timing for the film to be produced:

“I’ve talked to Kevin Feige about it. We’re creatively really compatible. I think we both agree that the character is right for a standalone, it’s just a case of timing at this point for both Marvel and myself. Marvel has a really huge roster. They’re looking four years ahead. I also have a lot of things that I want to do. If I did it, I would dedicate myself completely to making it amazing. It would have to be the best version that movie could possibly be. Otherwise, I would never do it.”
