At the fresh age of 13, singer-songwriter Keira Costelloe was one of the lucky few born with a natural gift of song and voice. Her distinctive tone blends incredibly well with synth-driven, modern pop records – a sound that would make artists/producers in the likes of The Chainsmokers and Zedd proud.
Most teenagers are just starting to discover who they are or what they want to be in the years to come. Not for Keira. She has had her eyes set on creating songs from as far back as she can remember. She resides in the beautiful country of Malaysia with her Malaysian Mom and British Dad.
In early 2019, Keira entered a music talent show in Singapore that was sponsored by Vocal Star from LA and managed and directed by George Caceras. She impressed both George and Adam H. Hurstfield, both renowned music producers and in August 2019, and went on to train and perform in the Vocal Star Showcase in LA, held at the infamous Loews Hollywood Hotel. It was during the showcase event that she was further discovered by music producers Christopher ‘C-Ray’ Roberts of OnKey Entertainment and Marc ‘M.Doc’ Williams of Indasoul Entertainment.
Keira released her debut single “Tell Me” in May 2020 and it has had phenomenal success and received rave reviews from her music peers. The song has racked up over 100,000 streams in the space of 10 weeks from release and reached the number one spot on the Hitz MET10 chart on Malaysian radio.
Her second single “Never Going Back”, again recorded in collaboration with C Ray and Marc, is a significant achievement given that Keira was in Malaysia and the guys were in LA and thanks to the wonders of today’s digital technology, and connectivity, Keira and C Ray were able to link up and remotely work on the song to the point everyone was satisfied with the outcome.
“Never Going Back” is another story Keira weaves about feelings and relationships that do not go to plan, the opening line “Being broken in the Summertime, I swear it happens to me every time ……..” says it all 😊.
Keira’s music can be described as Indie/Pop/ Future Bass, and her influences are The Chainsmokers, Melanie Martinez, Hailee Steinfield, Halsey, Post Malone, Rebecca Sugar, Bazzi, Billie Eilish, Snail House to name but a few.
