BN has confirmed that former police officer Ramli Mohd Noor will be its candidate in the upcoming Cameron Highlands by-election.
The ex-police assistant commissioner was the country's highest ranking cop from the Orang Asli community.
Ramli will face DAP’s M Manogaran, while MyPPP president Tan Sri M Kayveas may also contest.
The seat fell vacant after the Election Court nullified the win by MIC vice-president Datuk C. Sivarraajh in GE14, due to vote buying.
The Election Commission chairman has slammed those attempting to spread fake news over a picture of M. Manogaran, saying it is a serious implication.
According to the Star, the picture in question shows Manogaran giving what appears to be cash handouts to a group of Indian Malaysians.
But Manogaran has clarified that the picture was taken during Deepavali two years ago when he visited a poor community to give senior citizens aged 60 and above a donation.
And, bank employees will soon enjoy zero percent interest in their housing loans for the first 100,000 ringgit.
This, after all member banks under the Malayan Commercial Banks’ Association agreed to grant the benefit, effective April 1st.
The Association adds, employees of member banks will also receive a salary adjustment of up to 12 percent while the monthly cost-of-living allowance will be raised to 600 ringgit.
