Msian Student With Cancer Dies After Giving Up Hospital Bed For COVID-19 Patients

Hospitals are working on limited beds and medical equipment due to the COVID-19 pandemic and one Malaysian girl has unfortunately passed away after deciding to give up her hospital bed for COVID-19 patients.

The college student from Balik Pulau, Penang named Chelsea Cyndyon was diagnosed with cancer 10 years ago and has recently passed away after she chose to recuperate at home to give up her hospital bed for patients with COVID-19.

Her father said that she discussed voluntarily giving up her bed for for the COVID-19 patients in need, with her family and they agreed as they were worried about her health being around the patients too.

Chelsea had suddenly requested to celebrate her birthday that was due on April 15 earlier on April 4 and she passed away after the birthday celebration at 1:25am on April 5.

It was revealed that she was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 14 and had recovered, but unfortunately her cancer recurred two years later. Despite being told that she was only left with months to live, Chelsea fought the illness with determination and positivity and managed to live for another seven years.

Her parents were left in tears after her last words, “the journey with chemotherapy is so long” after she has recuperated at home for two months.

Her father said that he’s glad Chelsea could be strong and left the world behind with a smile on her face.
