There are a few games out there that make players really connect more with the characters and story instead of the gameplay and one of the best out there is definitely The Last of Us!

The critically acclaimed game is reportedly going to be adapted into a TV series with the creator of the award winning show Chernobyl Craig Mazin and writer and creative director of the game Neil Druckmann on board to helm the project.

"Neil Druckmann is without question the finest storyteller working in the video game medium, and The Last of Us is his magnum opus," Mazin said in a statement.

"Getting a chance to adapt this breathtaking work of art has been a dream of mine for years, and I'm so honoured to do it in partnership with Neil."

The series covers the events of the original game that was written by Neil and might include more content based on the upcoming game sequel, The Last of Us Part II that’s set to be released on 29th May 2020.

The Last of Us was considered to be one of the best video games ever released and its story takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where a father named Joel who had lost his daughter, is tasked to bring another girl named Ellie to a rebel militia group called Fireflies in hopes of creating a cure for the zombie infection.

Sony Pictures Television will also be co-producing the series with HBO and will it mark the first TV series from PlayStation Productions.

Fans are overwhelmed by the news and some users are also claiming that they “made it happen”.
