As Malaysians, nasi lemak is part of our culture and lives. We’re up for nasi lemak at any time of day and could never get sick of it!

Now, our beloved dish has hit a new milestone and we couldn’t be prouder!

Recently, TasteAtlas released their list of 100 Best Traditional Dishes of the World and our favourite dish has made it on the list!

That’s right! Nasi lemak is officially one of the best traditional dishes in the world!

TasteAtlas described the dish saying, “No other dish in Malaysia is as famous as nasi lemak” and that’s definitely true!

Other dishes that made it to the top 100 list include sushi and sashimi from Japan, xialongbao from China, wiener schnitzel from Austria, steak tartare from France, som tham from Thailand and peri-peri chicken from Mozambique.

Two other Malaysian dishes also made it on the list! However, our famous char kway teow and curry laksa was credited to Singapore instead… (sigh).
