If you’ve been enjoying your time out and about during the RMCO, prepare yourself for the possibility of having to spend your days staying home once again.
According to Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, if the number of daily COVID-19 cases were to reach triple digits, the Movement Control Order could be reinstated.

“If it reaches three digits, we have no choice but to reintroduce the MCO (to curb the spread of the pandemic) and we will see,” the Senior Minister said.
“I understand that if the MCO is enforced again, it will make things difficult for all parties, including those of us who want to work and so on but the measure must be taken,” he continued.

According to the Senior Minister, the government has been continuously monitoring the COVID-19 situation and he noted that one of the main causes for the rising number of cases lately is the public’s complacency.
“Positive cases have increased four days in a row,” he said. “This is because the public has forgotten what needs to be done. We eased the standard operating procedures (SOPs) and the number of cases begin to rise again.”
He added that all citizens should take on the role as frontliners by taking care of themselves, their families and communities until the pandemic is over.

“There will be a meeting tomorrow to discuss various issues and if the government decides on certain matter, the public must comply with the SOP then,” he said.
The Senior Minister also reminded those who are returning home to celebrate Hari Raya Aidiladha to comply with the SOPs, including those for the sacrificial ritual, and maintain social distancing.

So, if you don’t want to go through another round of MCO, be sure that you and everyone around you, complies with the SOPs and practices social distancing.
