If you’ve ever imagined a crossover between Game of Thrones and Dungeons & Dragons, then it’s almost time to see those worlds combine in the best way!

Coming real soon to a screen near you is a mini Game of Thrones reunion that will see the cast reuniting to play Dungeons & Dragons.

Daniel Portman (Podrick), Gemma Whelan (Yara), Iwan Rheon (Ramsay), Kristian Nairn (Hodor), and Natalia Tena (Osha) are set to reunite over the coming weekend and they’ll be heading back into medieval times once again but this time to enter a world where dungeons and dragons reign supreme.

Now, we know that this reunion is missing many key and lead actors from the series, but we’ll take it cause we can’t wait to see Podrick, Yara, Ramsay, Hodor and Osha back together again!

Entertainment Weekly revealed that the reunion is part of a “star-studded series of virtual Dungeons & Dragons games put on to raise money for Red Nose Day.”

The reunion will take place on 20th June 12pm EST (which is 21st June, 12am in Malaysia), on YouTube, so if you’re waiting for this mini reunion like we are, mark this date and time down!

For those of you who are unfamiliar with D&D, allow us to give you a brief explanation of the game. D&D is a fantasy tabletop role-playing game (RPG) that departs from traditional wargaming by allowing each player to create their own character to play. These characters will then embark on imaginary adventures within a fantasy setting that has been created by the Dungeon Master.

The Dungeon Master serves as the game’s storyteller and referee, while maintaining the setting of the adventure and playing the role of the inhabitants in the game world. The characters form a party and together they solve dilemmas, engage in battles, and gather treasure and knowledge, while interacting with the setting’s inhabitants and each other.

This was the moment “Stranger Things” won me over.

Kate Welch, game designer for D&D at Wizards of the Coast, will serve as Dungeon Master on a campaign that follows a group of heroes who “meet an unusual creature that sets them on a strange task. Seems simple enough – but in a realm legendary for its danger, all is not what it seems,” EW writes.

“The games I run tend to be ridiculous and goofy, which are two words I wouldn’t apply to Game of Thrones, necessarily,” Kate told EW. “Super excited to see how these actors in particular let loose with the antics you typically find at a D&D table.”

The upcoming D&D Live 2020 event will also feature a variety of actors in different games such as Stranger Things’ David Harbour (Hopper) and Legends of Tomorrow’s Brandon Routh.

In a teaser for the upcoming event, GoT stars Iwan (Ramsay), Daniel (Podrick), and Natalia (Osha) tease a little bit of the characters that they’ve created for the role playing games.

Iwan notes that he won’t be using his ruthless Ramsay Bolton character as an inspiration for this game.

“It’s not all about brawl, man,” he said. “You gotta think your way through problems. Not like Ramsay Bolton probably. Not gonna be very useful.”

D&D Live 2020 will take place over three days from 18th – 20th June but if you’re tuning in just for the GoT special, keep you calendars free on 20th June at 12am.
