When was the last time you saw the sunrise AFTER waking up on a weekend? Don’t lie, you probably slept through most of them because why bother waking up early on off days, kan?

Well, there’s no better time than this long weekend to get out of bed before the break of dawn and bask in the refreshing morning air and sun rays.

But your front porch or balcony isn’t good enough a view. What you really need is to get right in nature! So, grab your gears from the nearest Sports Direct outlet, pack your bags and head on over to any of these seven locations for a full-on adventure:

#1 Bukit Gasing, Petaling Jaya, Selangor

This hiking trail may be well known by many, but it still made it into the list because the view is absolutely breath-taking. This hike isn’t anything too difficult, tbh. If you want to grab a god view of PJ, you can actually drive almost to the top, park at designated parking lot and then take a short 5-minute walk to the top.

However, most people head to Bukit Gasing for a trek in the jungle. If you want to experience ‘Komerebi’ or sun rays shining through the trees, then this is a great place to enjoy it.

#2 Mount Kinabalu, Sabah

If you’re one of those super thrill-seekers, then you have to check out the sunrise at Mount Kinabalu. Now, visitors can climb up to Low’s Peak Summit with a 2-Day-1-Night Climb. The two summit trails available are the Ranau Trail and Kota Belud Trail, both starting at the Panalaban area.

Make sure you get the legal permits from the official website so that you don’t kena scam!

#3 Bukit Panorama, Sg. Lembing, Kuantan

This trail is mainly made up of stairs but do NOT underestimate it. You might be thinking that you’re young and ada stamina but tbh, even a super healthy person will be winded by this climb.

It’ll take about 30 to 45 minutes to reach the top and it can get super cold, so make sure you use the toilet at the bottom of the stairs before you naik.

#4 Bukit Kledang, Ipoh, Perak

On this hill alone, there are many trails you can take; 'Main Road’, ‘4-2’, ‘4-3, ‘4-9’, and ‘RTM’. However, only ‘Main Road’ and ‘RTM’ leads to the summit where you can soak in the stunning view of Ipoh city.

‘Main Road’ also intersects with ‘4-2’ and ‘4-9’, so if you want to try out different routes, feel free to go to either one of those. But it’s recommended that first-timers stick to the 6.4km tar-road ‘Main Road’ to make sure you don’t get lost.

#5 The Pinnacles, Mulu, Sarawak

This trail isn’t one for you to mess with. The rangers-slash-guides always remind everyone that “going up is your choice, but you have no choice when coming down”. This steep, jagged summit may look absolutely terrifying at first, and the climb up may look arduous (it is!), but the view is so worth it.

Do it for the ‘gram or the self-satisfaction; whatever it is, you’re bound to feel like you’ve achieved something awesome in life.

#6 Mossy Forest, Cameron Highlands, Perak

There are many routes on Cameron Highland’s multiple trails to enjoy a true trek in the jungle. One of the famous and pretty easy routes is the Mossy Forest Trail. Most of the track has wooden bridges and stairs built into the area which amps up the safety of the climb.

Getting to the mossy forest entrance is very rough and muddy. If you sayang your car too much to put it through uneven roads, then it’s best to hire a 4WD or walk all the way there. But walking can be quite tough lah.

#7 Pine Tree Trail, Fraser’s Hill, Pahang

Another cool location (literally!) you can visit for a spectacular view is on Pine Tree Hill which you can get to via the Pine Tree Trail. Fraser itself can be super chilly, what more when surrounded by all those huge trees, so make sure you wear some clothes that can keep you warm throughout the journey.

The path itself is quite tough too so for those who don’t hike often ought to go a bit slower! Don’t get hurt, tau
