Even though his shoulder injury was deemed “very, very serious” by manager Jurgen Klopp, Mo Salah is confident that he’ll be able to make the World Cup.

Claiming that he’d fight to be ready to play for his country, the Liverpool star is facing a battle to be fit for the tournament in Russia, which starts on 14 June.

Mo Salah tweeted:

The forward was scanned on his return to Merseyside and medics from Egypt have assessed the results. They are hopeful that he’ll be able to return to training in two to three weeks.

Salah damaged ligaments in his shoulder after a tangle with Real Madrid skipper Sergio Ramos. The incident enraged Reds fans as they feared he had dislocated his shoulder.

Egypt’s medical team suggested that his ligaments suffered a strain and should respond to treatment. They have assumed control over the player’s medical care since the domestic season has ended.

Get well soon, Salah, and we hope to see you in the World Cup!
