National sprinter Khairul Hafiz, smashed the 49-year-old 200m record set by Mani Jegathesan in 1968.
Khairul set the new record at 20.90s on his way to winning the event at the 94th Malaysian Open Athletics Championship.
Jegathesan’s record of 20.92s was set at the 1968 Mexico Olympics, and was the oldest record in the Malaysian athletics record book. This is definitely a great moment for Hafiz.
