Fans are in love with the live-action adaptation of Sonic the Hedgehog after its controversial design change and fan-favourite character Knuckles has officially found its voice!

Idris Elba confirmed that he’s playing Knuckles the Echidna in the upcoming Sonic 2 movie with a post of its iconic spiked knuckles and the caption, “Knock, knock....”
Knuckles was first reported to be playing a supporting role in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 back in December 2020, leaving fans to speculate who will be voicing the character, including actor Jason Momoa.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 follows the story of Sonic as he teams up with Tails to search for an emerald that has the power to build and destroy civilization before it falls into the hands of Dr. Robotnik that returned from the mushroom planet with his new partner, Knuckles.
Knuckles is a member of the Echidna clan and first appeared in the 1994 Sega video game “Sonic the Hedgehog 3” as an antagonist after being tricked by the evil Doctor Robotnik into thinking that Sonic is his enemy.

The original cast is set to return in the sequel directed by Jeff Fowler, with Ben Schwartz as Sonic, Jim Carrey as Dr. Robotnik, James Marsden as Tom Wachowski, and Tika Sumpter as Maggie Wachowski.
No voice actor has been confirmed for the character Tails yet even though it was voiced by Colleen O'Shaughnessey in the mid-credits scene in the first Sonic movie.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is set to release on 8 April, 2022!
